Treatment:

Chiropractic treatment primarily consists of spinal adjustments to correct Vertebral Subluxations.

A subluxation is a condition where the joints of the body have restricted movement. This condition can result in irritation, swelling, and a reduction in the sensory nerve flow from the mechanoreceptors, (located in the facet joints of the spine) to the brain. If left untreated over long periods of time this can lead to more serious conditions and joint degeneration.

Extremity adjustments are used to correct Subluxations of other joints of the body as well.

Physical therapy modalities are special services that include interferential therapy, intersegmental traction, flexion distraction, diathermy, hydrocollator packs, and trigger point therapy. These are used for soft tissue injuries, including disc injuries, inflammation, spasm, and fixations.

This deficit if present is usually caused by a non-ablative lesion in the brain that occurs due to a lack of afferent or sensory stimulation to one hemisphere of the brain. As a result one hemisphere of the brain functions at a sub optimal level when compared to the other hemisphere. We look at a variety of neurological signs when looking for hemisphericity This condition can cause a myriad of symptoms, the malfunction of certain systems in our bodies and can lead to more serious illnesses. If this situation is discovered, special services must be performed and a specific protocol of treatment must be followed in order to improve neurological function thereby restoring maximal health and brain function.
